WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Eyelash extensions are when an extension that is made of a synthetic fiber, is applied against each of your healthy natural lashes for a lengthening/voluminous enhancement.

 

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE LOOK I WANT?

Eyelash extensions are available in a number of lengths and thicknesses. You can even add fun colors like red, blue, purple etc. You will be able to consult with your eyelash extension specialist to see what type of style you are interested in. we also determine what your lashes can hold in regards to size and length. Each individual’s lashes will vary in strength and length which is taken into consideration when creating a look for you.    

 

ARE LASH EXTENSIONS BAD FOR MY NATURAL LASHES?

No. With proper prep, and isolation of each individual lash, placement, and aftercare, the extension will grow out with the natural shedding cycle of your natural lash. Daily washing with lash cleanser, and proper hygiene will all assist in maintaining the integrity of your natural lashes.

During our consultation, we will discuss the length and type that your natural lashes can safely hold.

 Please do not pick or try to remove your lashes at home. If for any reason you need them removed, please contact me for removal.

 

HOW LONG DO THE EXTENSIONS LAST?

An average of 2-3 weeks. This varies for each client depending on skin type, lifestyle, sleep position, proper aftercare, and scheduling fills every 2-3 weeks depending on individual retention.

  • Those with an oily skin type normally must return in 2 weeks opposed to 3 weeks for fills, oils along the lash line build up quickly and will start to weaken the adhesive.

  • Lifestyle that involves sports or fitness routines must consider that sweat and heat will compromise the longevity of your extensions. Also, heat from ovens, stoves, and even smoking must be protected from getting near your extensions.

  • Sleeping face down or in a position where the eyes rub against the pillow will cause for lashes to fall quicker than normal. If this sounds like you, my suggestion would be to invest in a silk pillowcase. 

  • Extensions do not attach to dirty lashes! They just don't. Oils from skin or skincare products will make their way to the lash line, as does makeup, and pollutants, so it is imperative that daily cleansing is a part of your routine.

  • Scheduled maintenance, by coming in every 2-3 weeks and keeping up with your fills will keep your lashes fresh!

 

HOW LONG IS THE PROCESS?

Be prepared for a minimum of 2 hours. Depending on the service, there is much attention to detail that involves a lash cleansing at the beginning of each service. For a full set, most of the time is spent getting close to 100% coverage on all healthy lashes. For fills, the process includes a gentle removal of all grown out lashes, and “refilling” all lashes ready for a new extension application.

 

CAN I BRING SOMEONE?

Unfortunately, and primarily for safety reasons, infants, kids or any other guests are not allowed in the studio while you are being serviced.

 

CAN I APPLY MASCARA ON MY EXTENSIONS?

It is strongly suggested to not only NOT apply mascara to your extensions, but to keep a minimal amount of makeup around the eye, if any at all. Oils will make their way from your eyelid to your lash line causing the adhesive to weaken, which makes for poor retention. If you absolutely must, the mascara but be oil-free.

 

CAN I GET MY EXTENSIONS WET?

Absolutely, and most especially because of cleansing. Your lashes can get wet within 48 hours. Just remember to brush with the provided lash wand to maintain curl immediately after as they dry down. NEVER brush your lashes while they are wet.

 

CAN I USE EYELASH CURLERS WITH MY EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

It is not recommended to use a mechanical curler on your eyelash extensions as these curlers will damage the extensions and possibly break your own natural lashes. The extensions have a natural curl but if more of a curl is required we recommend using a heated eyelash curler.

 

CAN I SWIM, SHOWER, EXERCISE OR VISITE A SPA WHILE WEARING EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Yes. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise, etc. special care is required but overall maintenance is low. However, do not wash your eye area for the first 24 hours after each application.
